What Our Members Say…
I have been a senior executive for many years. I enjoyed the respect, intellectual challenge, global experience and the deep relationships that came with my roles. I left my last job and decided to retire at age 58 to spend more time with family and friends and also give back through non-profit work. I will not return to a rigorous work schedule, but I am still open to intellectual opportunities if they arise. Defyinggravity.life was designed for someone like me to navigate next steps and to share in the wisdom of others like me.
My retirement date is set; my employer is aware and I have been readying myself for the transition, but I feel a bit like I am stepping into a void. I know the impact I have made, how deeply I am ingrained in my community and it is hard to imagine waking up one day and it is all gone. When I heard about Defyinggravity.life, I knew they had tapped into a need; I want to hear from experts about how to cope with this transition and share my story and hear other stories about how to affect this transition so there is meaning and purpose on the other side.
I officially retired several years ago, but I have consistently been called on to do part time consulting work. I keep saying I am ready to be done, but when one job ends, I find myself looking for the next opportunity. There is a level of purpose and accomplishment that comes with work that I haven’t been able to find in other endeavors, and frankly, I am not sure where to look. DefyingGravity.life will help me understand how other women are dealing with this transition and how they achieve purpose after their career ends.
You are donating for women just like you, to finally have a place to answer the question “who will I be after my career ends”?
We are a nonprofit entity that relies only on contributions to offer education, world-class webinars, a community and thought provoking newsletters for free; the founders have bootstrapped this organization and take no payment whatsoever to keep it thriving.
